My portrait of Marlon Brando as the Godfather was inspired by reading Leave the Gun,
Take the Cannoli, the inside story of the making of the Godfather.

This is the fifth portrait I have done of R. This is the second abstract. I think it is one of my best paintings. She likes it too. It is my most recent work.
John Prine, one of my favorite singer-songwriters, died a couple weeks ago of Covid 19. I immediately decided to do a portrait. I ended up doing two.
This is my latest work. It is of my stepson Rob’s dog, who happens to be named after my mother. I was staying with them over the holidays and got the itch to paint. Rob’s wife Marian has s small easel and some paints and other supplies so I worked there without my usual stuff but it turned out ok. Of course, I gave the painting to them, so it is not for sale.
This is my latest work. The portrait of Einstein was done for my doctor, Dr. Alan Einstein, and is hanging in his office in Suwanee, GA.
This is my first attempt at what might be considered a still life. Simple idea.
This is my latest painting. it is of the rotary in downtown Winchester facing west from Mt. Vernon St. That is the steeple of the First Congregational Church In the background. I spend a lot of time in Winchester Center.
This is my latest painting. It is of Papa Mali, a New Orleans-based singer, songwriter and slide player extraordinaire. I have gotten to know him a bit over the years and he is a super nice guy. I have given him this painting and he is returning the favor by sending me an autographed copy of a rare 7 Walkers CD, a band he was in along with Bill Kreutzman of the Grateful Dead.
This is my most recent painting. This is what I saw the last time I went through a carwash and looked through the windshield. This is also my largest painting to date, 18” x 24.”
Anna Avino, known to all as Mamma, is the chef at Restaurant Amalfi in Roswell, GA, one of the best if not the best Italian restaurant I’ve ever been to. Her meatballs and chicken parmigiana are to die for. She is also a sweet woman who once came to the assistance of a friend who ran into a medical problem at the restaurant. I painted this to thank her.
This was my first painting. It is off a photo I took of the fireworks display at the Indian Hills Country Club in Marietta, GA.
The portrait of New Orleans musician Dr. John is my latest work. I was inspired to paint him shortly after his recent death. He was the embodiment of New Orleans, my favorite city. He was also a true character and one whose appearance made it a natural for me to paint.
My portrait of Anders Osborne is one of my favorites, and not just because he is my favorite musician and one who has become a friend after years of going to his concerts from Boston to Atlanta to Annapolis to New Orleans, where he makes his home. Anders is a singer-songwriter-guitarist who was born in Sweden but has lived in NOLA for about 25 years or so. I like the portrait a lot because I think I captured him perfectly. Anders is just one of the nicest people I have ever met and I am happy to have him hanging in my living room. If you don’t know his music, check it out. While this painting is not for sale, canvass copies can be ordered.
This was one of my first paintings. I had never picked up a brush in my life but after my wife passed away I was encouraged by an artist friend to take up oil painting as a way to deal with my grief. I didn’t have anything specific in mind when I started this work, but I now see that I was expressing my feelings about finding a path out of grief and moving ahead with life. Since I started in early 2018 I have finished more than 30 paintings.
